#Holi or Maharatri is celebrated all over India, where everything evil is destroyed and goodness prevails! Holika was a demoness who was blessed with a boon that she would not be harmed with fire, provided, she used it for her own good. But when she tried to harm Prahlad (devotee of Vishnu), she was burnt to ashes and Prahlad was saved by the lord himself! It also marks the beginning of the harvest season. And for the foodies, it is the day to have incredible puranpolis which are thin rotis stuffed with sweet mixture of jaggery and chickpeas! After the evil is destroyed its time to celebrate with colors! My favorite is the #LatthMaar holi. It is played in Barsaana, the birthplace of #Radhaji. Womenfolk run behind the men with sticks to take a playful revenge from #Krishna who played pranks on his gopis thousands of years ago.
