Holiday Movie Review #3: Unbroken directed by Angelina Jolie with a varied cast of international actors. While there have been many who have criticized the film for leaving stuff out, all three of us that have read the book and now have seen the film felt that the movie was one of the better dramatic movies we have seen in a long time. The film was beautifully shot and the acting was good. The film largely told Louie Zamperinis story in a mostly episodic manner - I would have wanted to see a little of what happened after he got home and the kindnesses that some of the guards showed; Jolie, as director, has to be admired for handling the brutality of war and prison life as she did. See the movie - but also READ the book for a more IN DEPTH understanding of a remarkable life.
