Holiday driving on the Interstates is absolutely the worst. Coming back from Jacksonville, I was held up by an accident on I-16. Yes, one of those deals where everybody just turned the car off and got out. I imagine a couple people made new Facebook friends in all that mess. Then after nearly an hour traffic started moving again. Then near Dublin a mattress was laying smack in the middle of the highway, and then a couple miles past that a chair. So I imagine another accident at some point - behind me at least. Then I decided to check road conditions, and found that there was a major accident on I-75... so I just took back roads the rest of the way. Got off I-16 at Jeffersonville and took country roads all the way up to Monroe, and then hit 78 the rest of the way - nicest part of the whole ride. The Interstates are not even practical any more...
