Holiday memories come flooding back to me this time of year, starting with Halloween. In our house that was a day to celebrate it was my nonis birthday, always a huge family gathering at my Uncle Frank and Aunt Marions house then we could trick or treat if time allowed. Thanksgiving was always a big productions too, again Aunt Marion and Uncle Frank were the hosts, my grandmother and I waited for the crisp turkey skin and our favorite (the wing) then my uncle frank would cook the gizzards and livers with hot pepper and lots of garlic, and as I was born on thanksgiving there would always be a chocolate cake for me. Christmas eve was the same always at The Moretti household, we would exchange gifts and laugh listening to Uncle Franks stories and memories of days past along with his famous spiked punch.. I miss those day and those people, they are all gone now and a new family lives in the home that for 50 out of my 58 years I spent every holiday at. Time doesnt stand still and new traditions are waiting to be made, but those memories are always with me...
