Holland America to Debut New Ship in Mediterranean rendering of holland america lines koningsdam (2:16 p.m. EST) – When Holland America Lines newest ship, Koningsdam, debuts in February 2016 it will do so in the Mediterranean with a series of 12-night cruises. The sailings, which will be preceded by a single seven-night journey, will sail roundtrip alternating itineraries from Civitavecchia, Italy that visit one or more of the following ports: Katakolon, Piraeus (Athens), Rhodes and Crete, Greece; Istanbul and Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey; Cadiz, Malaga, Cartagena and Barcelona, Spain; Naples, Palermo and Cagliari, Italy; and Gibraltar. They will run through May 2016. Bookings open December 1, 2014. The 2,650-passenger Koningsdam will be the lines largest ship and the first in a new Pinnacle class. It will feature an expanded Queens Lounge, a new family cabin category and two outdoor swimming pools.
