Holly Moody Poole, be glad your children have geographical sense! A few years ago in my Honors English class I was introducing the literary period of Realism and the western expansion of America by the Louisiana Purchase. A girl ask me, Ms Davis, where is that land and who did we buy it from? I showed her the boundaries of the Louisiana Purchase. I then told her that we bought it from France. She then wanted to know where France was. I used a large map and showed her France and again pointed out the land mass of the Louisiana Purchase. Her final question: How did we get all that dirt over here from France? I could only reply, FedEx.
