Holly Seed has been developing and marketing sugar beet seeds for over 90 years, with doors first opening in Sheridan in 1915 as the Sheridan Sugar Company (of which Holly Sugar was the main shareholder). Holly established an agricultural research station in Sheridan in 1936 which sought to develop new beet seed varieties to increase sucrose content and yields. Today, Holly Seed produces hundreds of seed varieties resistant to insects and diseases that are shipped around the world. Holly Seed processes 1-2 million pounds of raw product every year and employs over 35 people during peak season. #WyoWorks
