Hollywood Magic Theater located in Glendale, California is proudly presenting a two hour comedy workshop online to audiences worldwide who dream of becoming comedians in Hollywood. With this online crash course on comedy writing, which will be done though Skype, you will learn the fundamentals of writing comedy for Hollywood in just two hours. Through various examples from sitcoms and SNL sketches, participants will have the opportunity to discover different genres of comedy, and learn the basic scene structure and character development in a comedy script. Basic points to be covered are as follows: -Introduction to different types of comedy styles - you pick your choice of style and write a short sketch; - Writing Sketch Comedy; - Character development - How to create a good comic character; - Generating ideas - brainstorming techniques; - Introduction to Clash of Context and Fish Out of Water; - Introduction to Inappropriate Response and Impossible Task; - Introduction to Political and Social Satire; - Introduction to Parody; Fee: $55US for early registration, which is between Monday January 19th to Monday January 26th; $75US regular price: registering after January 26th.
