Hollywood hardman Liam Neeson turned in to a real life hero after saving the life of a dog who was being stoned by three thugs in New York. The actor was out jogging in Central Park when he heard the screams of woman who was watching as the teenagers corned the stray animal. The Taken star “charged down a path” to confront the attackers before he himself was met with a volley of abuse. A source said: “Liam yelled that they’d better stop or he’d knock the c*** out of them, but the punks just swaggered up and warned him to mind his own business.” He then lost his usual laid back demeanour and snapped back telling them to back off “or else”. As he did the three attackers fled dropping their stones as a nearby policeman began to approach the group. The Irishman, 61, then tended to the dog. “Liam just shook his head and approached the shivering dog, stroking it while the policeman assessed its injuries,” the source said. The actor is a well known animal lover in New York, where he lives, and has been an active supporter in trying to save Central Park’s horse drawn carriage industry, which Mayor Bill de Blasio wants to shut down. mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/liam-neeson-saves-dog-after-3268648#ixzz2wcVJisLP Follow us: @DailyMirror on Twitter | DailyMirror on Facebook
