Holocaust happened not only to the Jews. Hitlers plan to annihilate Polish population by mid-50ties was just slower in progress, nevertheless as brutal. Half of the Jews that died in Holocaust were Poles, mostly from families which lived in Poland for generations. Poland was the only country in which the underground Army organized help for the Jews, military and social, although the penalty for discovering such cooperation equaled death. Other Western governments often collaborated with Germans, but after the war Poles, who also saved the most Jews, were not invited to the Victory Parade in fear of offending Churchill and Roosevelts pact with Stalin.
