Holy Cross Annual Golf Outing 2014 – The golf course has changed ! Greetings Brother Knights and fellow golfers! The Holy Cross Annual Golf Outing of 2014 is slowly coming upon us. All of us good, bad and beginning golfers look forward to this day on the calendar for golf, fun, laughs, food and a good time back at the K of C Lounge. This is the one day many get to see some others all year! We had several compliments last year about the transition of this outing and many people liked the idea of putting their purchased prize raffle tickets into individual prize bins of choosing as opposed to winning random prizes. We had hoped people would like this idea. Thanks for any feedback you may have given us! This year’s outing will be at a different course. Fellows Creek had a change of management just weeks before our outing last year and along with that came a steep price increase when we immediately inquired about keeping the outing there for 2014. We did not want to increase the cost of the outing and wanted to keep the overall day as close as possible to the way things have been in years past. We looked at various courses in the area and narrowed it down to just a few based on location, costs and input from several others golfers about choices of where to go. We didn’t want to stray too far from the general area since many people come from all over and several courses we thought of nearby wanted as much or more than what Fellows Creek had told us. Based on this, we decided to have the upcoming 2014 annual golf outing at Warren Valley in Dearborn Heights. The outing will take place on June 7th, 2014 with the customary 8AM shotgun start. We understand this outing was held there before in the past so all should be OK. We will see how it goes and we can briefly discuss some possible options for next year at the banquet if golfers want to. We definitely need some people to help with the scores and such back at the council after the outing. We also would like to ask anyone that may have ideas for prize donation inquiries, would like to donate something towards the outing, or hole sponsorship to please contact us when you can with information. You can also leave a message for us at the council for the next few months as well. The outing fliers will be in the next letter mailing.
