Holy Land Pilgrimage May 5-19, 2014 MAY 05 Evening assemble at the airport to take the flight to Cairo. MAY 06 CAIRO Arrival in Cairo. Lunch then proceed to Coptic Cairo (hanging church, etc), Church of the Mokatam Mountain. Dinner and overnight. MAY 07 CAIRO Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. Stop by a Papyrus factory. Continue to the Perfume factory. Pharonic Village tour. Dinner and Overnight at hotel.. MAY 08 CAIRO – LUXOR Breakfast. Take the morning flight to Luxor. Visit the tombs of the Pharoahs in the Valley of the kings. Visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, Ramses III Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple Dinner and overnight in Luxor. MAY 09 LUXOR – SHARM EL SHEIK After breakfast, take the flight to Sharm el Sheik famous in the world for its exquisite Naama Bay. Indulge in once in a lifetime optional activities such as Safari Desert. Marvel at the amazing 5,000 years old corals of the Red Sea aboard the glass boat or simply relax in the beach or try walking in their famous Mercato full of cafes, restaurants and shops that are open for 24 hours. MAY 10 SHARM EL SHEIK – ST. CATHERINE MONASTERY After breakfast, transfer to St. Catherine Monastery. Experience to climb Mt. Sinai. Dinner and overnight at the monastery. MAY 11 ST. CATHERINE – TABA – JERICHO – TIBERIAS – SEA OF GALILEE Climb Mt. Sinai early in the morning where Moses received the Ten Commandments. Return to the Monastery for breakfast. Visit the “burning bush”, Jethro’s well Proceed to Taba to cross the border to Israel. Move on to Jericho. See Mt. of Temptation, Sycamore Tree. Take a deep in the Dead Sea. Move on to Tiberias. On to Sea of Galilee for a boat ride. Dinner and overnight. MAY 12 Cana – Nazareth - Capernaum – Tabgha– St. Peter’s Primacy – Mt. of Beatitudes – Jordan River After breakfast, move on to Cana, where Jesus performed His first miracle, He turned the water into wine at the Wedding in Cana. Move on to Nazareth, visit the Church of the Annunciation where the Archangel Gabriel announced to Virgin Mary the birth of Jesus Christ. Visit also St. Joseph’s workshop and Mary’s well. Proceed to Capernaum where Jesus mostly taught and on to Tabgha. Visit St. Peter’s Primacy Church. Visit Mt. of Beatitudes where the Sermon on the Mount took place. Proceed to Yardenit, where traditionally, Jesus was baptized. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias. MAY 13 Mt. Tabor - Mt. Carmel – Ceasarea – Jaffa – Jerusalem Drive to Mt. Tabor early in the morning to Visit the site of Transfiguration. You shall visit Haifa, to Stella Maris where one can enjoy a panoramic view of the Mediterranean. Drive down to Caesarea which was built by Herod the Great to catch sight of the Aqueducts and the Roman Theater. This is where St. Paul was imprisoned. Proceed to Jaffa andvisit the city where Yona set sail on. Also, visit the House of Simon the Tanner. Move on to Jerusalem to visit the Western Wall or the Wailing Wall. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem MAY 14 Ein Karem – Bethlehem - Jerusalem After breakfast Proceed to Ein Kerem to visit the Church of St. John and the Church of Visitation. In the afternoon continue the journey to Bethlehem to visit the Church of Nativity where Jesus was born. Then proceed to the Shepherds’ Field where the star appeared to the Shepherds which lead them to the manger where baby Jesus was born proceed to Mount Scopus where you can have a sight seeing of the Old and New City of Jerusalem.Move on to the Mount of Olives to visit the Ascension Chapel where Jesus ascended into Heaven. Visit the Church of Pater Noster to witness the “Lord’s Prayer written in several languages. Proceed to the Church of Dominus Flevit (God Wept) where God wept over Jerusalem. You shall walk down the Palm Sunday road to the Church of All Nations and the Garden of Gethsemane where you can see the Rock of Agony where Jesus prayed before the Roman soldiers came for Him. Back to hotel for dinner And Overnight. MAY 15 Jerusalem After breakfast, visit the Church of St. Anne, Pool of Bethesda. Today we enter the Old City of Jerusalem through Herod’s Gate. Walk the Via Dolorosa starting at the Ecce Homo where Pontius Pilate washed his to eternal sleep hands. Proceed to the Flagellation and through all the Stations and reach the Church of the Holy Sepulchre where Jesus was crucified, died and rose from the dead. We visit the Mount Zion area where we see the Upper Room where Jesus and His disciples have their last supper. The Church of Dormition, where Mary went and the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu, the House of the High Priest Caiaphas where St. Peter denied Jesus three times. Dinner and overnight. MAY 16 Jerusalem - Amman – Madaba After breakfast, cross the Allenby border. Proceed to Madaba, to visit the Monastery of St. George, which hosts the unique mosaic Map of Egypt, Jordan and Israel. The Map is believed to be the first one for this area, as it built in the 6th century A.D.Dinner and overnight in Amman. MAY 17 Amman – Petra - Amman Visit Petra, the Rose colored Mountain. Back to Amman for dinner and overnight. MAY 18 Amman - Mt. Nebo Visit Mt. Nebo where Moses saw the “Promised land”. Proceed to the airport to catch the flight back to Manila. MAY 19 Home Sweet Home!
