Holy One, I celebrate all the resources I have in life. I know that much of it is an accident of birth. Because my parents were educated and valued education (which is largely because their parents were educated and valued education), I ended up with a good education. Because I was raised in an upper-middle class family, I inherited that economic privilege. I know that the resources I have in life are not of my own making but of a series of events over which I had minimal to no influence. And yet, I see your hand at work, for I believe that you are the creator of the accident of my birth. And so I thank you for the resources I have. I hope I am being a good steward of these resources and that, if I am not, you will gently speak to me and show me another, more pleasing path.
