Holy Week Prayers During our Spring Break I brought along a number of books by the Rev. Sam Shoemaker, one of the founders of AA, and a Episcopal clergymen from the 1920s-60s. I keep looking for models of how to be a faithful priest in a comprehensive Church, all the while upholding and living, as Shoemaker might put it, personal conversion, and a call to change the world. Ill be posting one of his prayers each day this week. For Monday of Holy Week O God before Whom the long pageant of human life is passing, Thou with Whom are the real issues of our life: We do not always know whether we belong to the world or to Thee. Our faith is so feeble, and out trust in power is so strong. Press upon us this Holy week the everlasting consequences of our daily choices. Show us where we crucify Christ again. And give us grace to die with Him, and so to come with Him to the joy of His resurrection. For His names sake, Amen.
