Holy cow! Thurs. Went dipnetting for 1st time down kenai river in a boat.geared up in hip boots raincoats and pants borrowed from a friend.looked like a big pale purple plum..then added a bright red life jacket wool hat then had to climb into the boat loaded with coolers nets extra coats as a cold wind was blowing Water was choppy and we got splashed a lot.finally got to the spot to fish with these huge round nets with long long handles. We caught 13 salmon. In 4hrs. They were nice and big and fresh from the sea. After cleaning and putting them in a 30 min saltwater brine then smoking overnite. So today I cut them put in jars pressured for 2 hrs. Wow 4 cases of Pints . So pretty. Next batch wont be smoked. Love that canned salmon. 11 pm still daylight. Goodnight everyone.
