Holy prophet pbuh said to Ammar Yasir, O Ammar! Those, who persecute and kill you, will belong to the group of rebels. This remark was a direct hit on Muawiya because when in the Battle of Siffin Ammar Yasir was martyred at the hands of Muawiyas troops, the people at once recollected the prophecy the Holy Prophet which he made about Ammar Yasir and realized that his killers were oppressors and rebels and believed that Muawiyas claim was false and thus they dissociated themselves from Muawiyas forces.
