Holy smokes, guys! I forgot to talk about half the things on my list of things to talk about that I made this morning!!! 1. There is a growing need for mainstream characters for events to help benefit our communities. A lot of places are asking if we can get people to dress like Superman or Batman. And it really doesnt matter if other people are dressing like a character. THE MORE THE MERRIER!!! If any of the following characters sound like something youd like to do in 2015, youd be doing a great service to your community: -Superman -Wonder Woman -Batman -Flash -Green Lantern -Cyborg -Captain America -Iron Man -Thor -Black Widow -Hawkeye -Any X-Men, especially Wolverine. -Any Movie or Television Star Wars -Disney Characters -Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach -Popular Video Games (Im not much of a gamer... so I dont know) -Homestuck 2. I want to announce and schedule a workshop in January. It will be a Pepakura workshop. Free to the public (we have the funds for this) and it will involve a group (size depending on classroom space) making a single simple pepakura model. People may bring in their own models to work on. Class will go over basics and discuss how models can be finished and painted. If anyone with Pekakura experience would like to lend a hand, it would be appreciated. 3. February I want to do a sewing workshop. I have talked with Laura Lundberg about this a few months ago and I think can combine an number of ideas into one event. Some of you are too young to remember, but for years Wizard Magazine was a HUGE entity in the comic book world. That magazine evolved into the Wizard World that you know today. Early in the magazines publication, covers were adorned with comic book characters draped in purple cloaks and wizard hats with white stars. The idea is that we have a sewing project where we make some simple cloaks and wizard hats. Easy stuff to get people over the fear of the sewing machine. Then we do an photo shoot with the hats and cloaks... post it on the Iowa Cosplay does Wizard World Des Moines page to show Wizard that we appreciate them choosing Iowa for their convention. 4. How much would people be willing to pay for a fancy party? I mean... good food, entertainment, dancing, refreshments and a classy location? $20? $30? $40?
