Holy wow and holy crap. Henry Feldman invited me in to his wizards lair for a last-ditch attempt to accomplish what all of Apple couldnt - recover the battery life collapse that hit a year ago and Would Not Go Away. Well, in one hour, his co-wizard @Eli Kaldany nailed it. Two days ago battery life was about 3:20 and nobody knew why; today it ran a full six hours unplugged. I Am Happy. Two changes did it: Shut off the Carbonite backup utility while unplugged (its a HOG - drains battery ridiculously), and turn brightness down to 50%. I have no idea why Carbonites a battery hog. But I have my answer and again I worship the wizards.
