Written by Allen West on March 5, 2014 Share! Print Friendly and PDF coward There are many definitions for the word “coward” but there is no clearer example than Senator Harry Reid. Reid hides on the Senate floor where he has “immunity” and hurls out insults and disparaging remarks. If Reid had any moral courage, he wouldn’t hide on the Senate floor, but man up and make his assertions where he will have to defend them. So, in true cowardly fashion and typical of the Alinsky model of demonizing a “political opponent,” from the safety of the Senate floor, Reid attacked Americans for Prosperity and their benefactors, David and Charles Koch. Reid referred to the two brothers as being “un-American” — so much for the whole “civil discourse in politics” Obama was hoping for. I find it ironic that Reid had nothing to say about George Soros, who ranks far higher than the Koch Brothers in political contributions. Soros undoubtedly funds organizations like Media Matters and Center for American Progress, whose former director, John Podesta is now a White House advisor. It’s ironic that Reid said nothing about groups such as AFL-CIO, SEIU, Organizing for America, NEA-AFT, Planned Parenthood, and others that contribute heavily to progressive socialist politicians. Reid also made no statement about the top 15 political donors in the country being Democrats. Nah, that’s the truth, and we all know truth is to liberal progressives like garlic and sunlight to vampires. Reid’s ongoing despicable actions are that of a coward who believes he can hide behind his position to attack opposing voices, simple everyday Americans — as he recently referred to American citizens suffering under the onerous Obamacare edicts as “liars.” The Democrats, especially Senate Democrats, are running scared and when Democrats run scared they lash out. They create villains, i.e. the Tea Party is full of racists and extremists, the Koch Brothers are un-American. The objective is to create a chasm between the “villains” and the Conservatives seeking office in this critical midterm election cycle. Hence, the silly sound bite from Reid: “Republicans are addicted to Koch.” Sadly, they believe the American people will fall for this and it seems they always do. As I learned from retired Marine First Sergeant Jim Reinfinger, “If you ever find yourself in a fair fight, it’s because your tactics suck.” The Republican party better wake up and realize this ideological battle for America cannot be waged using Marquis of Queensberry rules. The response from Americans for Prosperity President Tim Phillips exemplifies the type of resolve we need: “Americans know better than to take lessons in civic virtue from Senator Reid, a career politician who has spent decades in Congress, and now descends from his Ritz Carlton penthouse to mislead Americans. It’s laughable that Senator Reid is trying to preach about the importance of credibility, when he has been one of the most vocal defenders of President Obama’s ‘Lie of the Year.’ Instead of taking responsibility for ObamaCare’s failures, Senator Reid and his allies are going after those who have been harmed by the law and brave enough to speak out – and Americans for Prosperity, for giving these Americans a voice. “Senator Reid is desperately trying to shift the public’s attention away from the health care law by, once again, attacking David and Charles Koch. Ironically, David and Charles create more jobs, more prosperity, and more well-being for Americans in a single year than Senator Reid and his big government policies will in a lifetime. “At the end of the day, these attacks from the left don’t change the facts about ObamaCare – that it’s leading to cancelled plans, higher costs, lost access to doctors, and stifling economic growth. Unfortunately for Senator Reid and his friends in Congress, Julie – and the millions of other Americans being harmed by ObamaCare – are not going to just sit down and shut up. Mr. Reid is overwhelmingly underestimating the courage of these individuals; attacks from a powerful Senator will not silence them.” Let us all remember, liberal progressive socialists are cowards who hide and hurl insults, but never address issues. They can’t stand it when you fight back, which is why I get so much flak. The Left will lie and cheat in order to silence voices of opposition. But to them I say Bring. It. On.
