Home > Best Of All Time > Liverpool’s Fabulous Football Fans Liverpool’s Fabulous Football Fans By eurofootballwebon January 10, 2013 Football is a game like no other. It is – by far – the cruelest sportbecause it has various factors in every single game that determine the outcome. You can pass the ball better, defend better, and even score the first goal, but because you did not bury your chances, you end up tying the game 1-1 on a 90th minute devastating deflection goal. It takes skill, discipline, honor, and even the right attitude to play properly. Everyone knows the goalof the game is very simple, put the ball in the net, but sometimes it is the most difficult task in the entire world. Real fans of the sport know the difference between the good football games and the boring ones, regardless of the score. There are huge football clubs around Europe; teams which include Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Liverpool. Each of these clubs have not only their local fans, but many millions of fans outside of their respective country. For all the factors in a football game, one can never ever undermine the importance of the fans. In almost every World Cup tournament, the local team seems to magically go through each round, even against perennial favorites. Lets take a moment and look back at a few of those examples. 1966 – England, their one and only world cup, France ’98- the only victory for them. USA 1990- went through the knockout and might have gone further had they not had to play champions BRAZIL. 1-0 final score. Japan and Korea in 2002, with both going through the knockout and the ladder upsetting PORTUGAL, ITALYand SPAIN all the way to the semi finals. There aremany different types of fan, and each one brings their own aspect to the game. You’ve got your: HOOLIGANS -which go to the games to fight- DIE HARDS- which only follow one club team regardless on how they are doing and how the rest of the football world is doing ARMCHAIR FANS- which have never kicked a football but they curse every player when something goes wrong. But, for the real fans of football, it is all about the beautiful game and the appreciation for when it is played beautifully. They know when their team has been beat by a better team, or when they know their team played their best but fell short. They appreciate the quick movement and one – two passing , the type we all love to see Barcelonaplay. To me no fans better understands this beauty then the fans at Anfield, and to a larger scope all the Liverpool fans around the world. It isundeniable that they create the most wondrous and unique atmosphere for a football game. The fans are renowned around the world, ever receiving praise from opponent players. Players like Thierry Henry have come out and openly stated that Liverpool fans are the best, and they are, and they always will be, because they love the game with all their passion. Only in poorer places, can the love of the game still flourish, where the capitalistic mind set hasn’t ruined the fans, and winning isn’t everything. The beautiful game is what is important, to have honor, respect, skill and passion. Not to dive and pay off refs and throw rocks at the opponents!! It is the same love of the game that can be found in the hearts of Braziliansand Persian kids! The only place you can find fans like the ones from Anfield are in the stadiums of poor cities in countries like Brazil and Iran. FOOTBALLITIS…it never ends.. the working class hero is something to be. lovethe game, not the money
