Home Depot, Target and UPS are probably familiar with this! Well worth watching! Excellent graphics! From a comment: +A Yema extremetech/extreme/185125-how-to-watch-hacking-and-cyberwarfare-between-the-usa-and-china-in-real-time Norse is using a heavily modified web based version of Etherape and are just running the data back out to a global map of the geolocated IPs. So each honeypot is just reporting whats going on back to a file server running etherape against those files being collected on the server. And for anyone who has never heard of Etherape before, its a Linux program thats a graphical network monitor modeled after etherman. it displays network activity graphically, showing active hosts as circles of varying size, and traffic among them as lines of varying width. . It features link layer, ip and TCP modes, color-color coded protocols display, Ethernet, FDDI, Token Ring, ISDN, PPP and SLIP devices. It can filter traffic to be shown, and can read traffic from a file as well as live from the network. We are basically witnessing millions of compromised Windows OS machines trying to infect and control millions of other easy target/low security machines for unethical purposes (Shows you just how secure Windows really is) Much of the activity seen can very likely be attributed to compromised machines in China/Russia ect running a botnet. That would also be much more reasonable based on the amount of frequently coordinated attacks. https://youtube/watch?v=k4mY53uRn3Y&feature=player_detailpage
