Home Ministers statement in Parliament over Netaji files The Rajya Sabha witnessed an engaging debate yesterday over the destruction of Home Ministry files by the Modi Government. Home Minister Rajnath Singh spoke in Hindi. Given below is that portion of his statement where he touched upon the issue of the Netaji files. The Minister was responding to a pointed question of Sukhendu Sekhar Ray of the TMC. Mr Ray asked whether any files about Netajis disappearance were destroyed along with other files and told the government to declassify its secret files about Netaji. Please note that no other member talked about Netaji and to best of my information no one backed Mr Ray when he forcefully spoke about Netaji. All of them, especially the Left leaders, spoke about their dismay over reported destruction of records concerning Gandhijis assassination. In other words, the debate was about the Mahatma Gandhi records for all practical purposes. Just that Mr Ray flagged the issue that is close to the heart of a small number of Indians like us. He did it on an earlier occasion as well. My apologies for the jumbled (Hindi) text but it is legible nevertheless. In brief, the Home Minister said that it did not appear to him that any file concerning Netaji was destroyed in the recent purge. He said hed look into it but give the parameters of the MHA it was most unlikely that any such file was destroyed. That the Home Minister of India is willing to speak about Netaji is a good sign. In the days of Congress we witnessed a nautanki (farce) perpetrated by then Home Minister Shivraj Patil. जहां तक नेताजी सुभाष बोस से संबंिधत अथवा कमीर से संबंिधत फाइल का सवाल है, उन सब सारी फाइल को नट नहीं िकया गया है। मुझे देखना पड़ेगा कमीर के संबंध म और इसको म तब वेिरफाई करुंगा, लेिकन हमारी अब तक की जानकारी है िक कमीर से संबंिधत कोई भी फाइल नट नहीं हुई है। लेिकन सुभाष चन्दर् बोस से संबंिधत भी कोई फाइल नट नहीं होनी चािहए, इस संबंध म भी म जानकारी हािसल कर लूंगा, लेिकन जो हमारे मेन्युअल के इंटर्क्शंस ह, जो पैरामीटसर् ह, उन पैरामीटसर् को देखते हुए मुझे नहीं लगता है िक नेताजी सुभाष चन्दर् बोस से भी संबंिधत कोई फाइल नट की गई है। Mr Rays question was: महोदय, म आपके माध्यम से माननीय गृह मंतर्ी जी से अनुरोध करना चाहता हूं िक हमारे सूतर् के मुतािबक जो बहुत सारी िकताब म है और यह भारत सरकार ने भी बारबार पट िकया है िक इंटेिलजस ांच के पास, पी0एम0ओ0 के पास नेताजी सुभाष चन्दर् बोस से संबंिधत एक सौ से ज्यादा सीकर्ेट फाइस ह। गवनर्मट ऑफ इंिडया ने पट िकया है िक होम िमिनटर्ी के पास सर हजार से भी ज्यादा पन्ने नेताजी सुभाष चन्दर् बोस की रहयमयी अन्तधार्न के संबंध म रखे हुए ह। म माननीय गृह मंतर्ी जी से आगर्ह करना चाहता हूं िक वे सदन को प ट कर िक तमाम सारी दलील और दतावेज जैसे िक राटर्ीय अिभलेखागार म महात्मा गांधी जी के बारे म तथा दूसरे नेताओं के बारे म रखे गये ह, वैसे ही हमारे कर्ांितकारी नेता सुभाष चन्दर् बोस जी के बारे म भी िजतनी सीकर्ेट फाइस ह, सर हजार पन्ने ह, जो होम िमिनटर्ी के पास ह, क्या वे सावर्जिनक िकए जाएंगे? क्या वे राटर्ीय अिभलेखाकार म रखे जाएंगे क्यिक िंहदुतान की जनता को यह जानने का अिधकार है िक 70 साल पहले नेताजी कैसे अंतधार्न हुए? यह आज तक देश के िकसी भी नागिरक को मालूम नहीं है। इसिलए म आपके माध्यम से माननीय गृह मंतर्ी जी से िनवेदन करता हूं िक इस बात का खुलासा कर। धन्यवाद।
