Home, safe, cold, very sore. No jacket, no flashlight, dead cell - TopicsExpress

Home, safe, cold, very sore. No jacket, no flashlight, dead cell phone. It was a long jaunt from Old Town, across the Natoma Bridge, through the shopping center parking lot, behind the McDonalds, up dark neighborhood streets to the trailhead. BUT, instead of taking my usual Hinkle trail, which is completely pitch dark at night, I decided to take the Lew Howard trail instead. Its much steeper, but there are more lights, and its a shorter way to get to Oak Avenue Parkway with its sidewalk and street lights. It took me about a quarter mile out of my way, but having the sidewalk was worth it. (Im sure my gasping like a tuberculosis patient scared the coyotes away!) Street smarts, folks. Its not that hard to be safe if you plot things out. In any case, I had a great time tonight. I think I threw out my hip while dancing because I limped those 2 miles home. I just took a few ibuprofen gels caps to help with the soreness. My toes hurt, my ankles hurt, my knees hurt, and that poor hip. I dont care... youre never too old to rock and roll! Good night! :D
