Home sweet home, but not without some excitement at the airport.... As I waited plane-side when we landed, watching the baggage handlers unload the carry-on luggage that we check just as we board, the jack-ass inside the plane was literally throwing the carry-on bags out the door of the plane, on to the luggage conveyor. People were gasping. And, every now and then, he would miss the conveyor and the luggage went bouncing directly onto the tarmac!! Well today must not be my day. As I watched in horror, I saw my very expensive Brookstone leather carry-on bag come sailing out from the interior of the plane, bounce once on the conveyor and go careening off into space for the six-foot fall to the pavement. Inside this bag were my new laptop, my new tablet, my newest Nikon digital camera, one of my older digital cameras, my Ipod.....etc.--you know, the fragile stuff that you hand carry because it is too fragile to go through the regular baggage system!!! To put it gently, the fire flew all over me and I was inside at the USAirways counter, just as fast as my furious legs could carry me. I make a point not to chew out one person for the misdeeds of another, but I expressed my outrage in the strongest terms and said that I wanted to hear from the station manager. Fortunately, one of the supervisors had seen the incident and said he was going to go yell at the guy... I assured him that yelling was an inadequate response. Ill write my nasti-gram tomorrow. Grrrrrrr...... Great way to get over being all chilled out. But, then we picked up the puppy from the dog-sitter... There were uncontrolled squeals of joy at the reunion....(that was Kim, by the way)! When we got home, three of the dogs literally leaped into the car to shower us with licks and wiggles and kisses. It was a little painful, since one was Bella the 80 pound Lab, but it was impossible not to be happy to be home. It was a great vacation with a bunch of really wonderful friends, but there is no place like home!!
