Home tonight to sleep in my own bed for the first time in nearly a week to recharge my batteries and will be back at it with Mom tomorrow after work. My sister-in-law from TN is pinch-hitting in my stead tonight and tomorrow so I can be with her for what is hopefully just one or two more days at the most at the hospital and then bring her home. I was impressed with her infectious diseases doctor (personable AND sharp as a tack) this afternoon, and all nursing staff are now clear on her new fever protocol. Score one for the tiger mama and her daughter (hat tip Mary Mehsikomer). Got Dad doing better (this is scary for all of us) and thankful for those who have provided him support as well. Many thanks for all the words of solidarity the last 24 hours when things got ugly. Praying for a restful and fever free night and day for Mom the next 24 hours!
