Homefront was a fun action flick. While Jason Statham was better in Safe, he turns in a more genuine performance here than he did in The Mechanic and some of his other more generic action flicks. James Franco holds his own as the antagonist Gator. The only real criticism of the movie is that a subplot involving Stathams romance with a redheaded teacher is completely dropped. Seriously!? Other than that, the cinematographys good (too good for an action movie!) and the characterizations work. Its the best solo action endeavor from an Expendables cast member this year, triumphing over Stallones Bullet to the Head. (3/4 stars)
