Homeless Bill of Rights supporter, SHOC has been working with Western Regional Advocacy Project on creating a new Homeless Bill of Rights and Campaign for California (AB5 lost in Appropriations). WRAP includes homeless advocacy groups from Los Angeles to Portland. This Thursday we want to convene a meeting including local Sacramento endorsers of AB5, and we hope endorsers of the new bill and campaign. Weve had a legal team working on a very basic draft that we can review at the meeting (wording is being sequestered), and make comments and recommendations in order to help perfect a final document. We will have opportunities over the summer to work on this. Also, I thought we would discuss how to move forward, who to invite to join the campaign, who we should ask to endorse the campaign, and other strategies for local organizing. I hope you can come to our first local campaign meeting. Let me know if you think we should have something else on the agenda.
