Homer substation, 1934 N. Campbell Ave. Constructed in 1913 for Chicago Railways, which received electricity here from ComEd to power the streetcars. This substation was located behind the Armitage car house, where streetcars were stored. The car house still stands, used by small industry. CTAs Blue Line passes nearby, which was also fed from this substation until around 1969. CTA later sold this building to become an arts school.
