Homes across several areas in Bengaluru West are expected to go dry as a water pipeline has burst. The accident happened near Magadi Road’s Beggars Colony. The pipeline sprang a leak late last night and close to 90 million litres of water has been lost. There is a GAIL gas pipeline running parallel to the water pipeline and it is suspected that the leak occurred due to faulty construction of the gas pipeline. The pipeline is nearly 80 years old and supplies water to several parts like Rajajinagar, Prakash Nagar, Sunkadkatte, Yeshwantpur, Dayanandsagar Nagar and Basaveshwara Nagar.
