Homework.... This week my Sociology homework reminds me of my whole Life!!! Studying POVERTY and I have to make a monthly budget for 3 different family situations.... Lol.... The first family, I have lived back in the 1980s when my older kids were born, the second Family I lived when their father became a Union Electrician and the third family I lived (live) most recently...lol.... Kind of cracks me up to see that in my life I have lived in so many different economic situations! I feel like I have done this homework--for real--over and over in my life.... I have to wonder how difficult this must be for the average 19-24 year old taking this class, it must be very hard for them considering its all so abstract for a young person. I also have to wonder how much of this will stick in the minds of most young people working so hard this week to figure out how to budget for these three family economic situations? There really should be more opportunity to earn college credits for Real Life experience. For me this is a bunch of busy work because I am 50! Wish I could just turn my financial records for the last 30 years and have class credit, lol.
