Hon. Ben Chebois statement on the #KapedoAttack I received the news of the loss of 22 innocent lives including security officers with a lot of shock and disbelief. It is most unfortunate that our gallant soldiers and innocent residents continue to be butchered mercilessly by bandits who should be dealt with strongly. I condemn today’s attack on security officers and civilians at Kapedo area in our border with Turkana.The heinous and barbaric acts in the guise of cattle rustling must but be brought to and end.When it has reached a point where bandits and criminals cause mayhem and kill even security forces, then it is no longer a matter of cattle rustling but criminal activities which should be dealt with full force of the law as clearly outlined in our constitution. President Uhuru Kenyatta and Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo should now, more than ever urgently intervene strongly and decisively to restore calm and order in the affected areas once and for all. I remain commited to and support all efforts that will bring and foster lasting peaceful coexistence amongst our people and neighbours. This is the cornerstone that we will lean on as a county and region as we seek development and prosperity. I send my most sincere condolences to the bereaved families.My thoughts and prayers are with them during this trying moment.
