Honest question: other than a single 1970s undergrad recruiting visit to Cornell (which he decided against, choosing Harvard instead) did Neil DeGrasse Tyson actually have any academic lineage to Carl Sagan? I ask because he has gotten substantial mileage out of the claim of being Sagans scientific heir and successor, yet from a fair amount of searching online I cant find any evidence that connects the two in a meaningful way.
