Honestly, I almost never post YouTube videos. Ill make an exception. This is from the BBCs Dr. Who. In this clip, Vincent Van Gogh is brought into the present to discover what people think about his artwork. In his lifetime, Vincent sold ONE painting. A few others were traded for food and boarding. He died penniless and friendless, a failed missionary who was fired by his mission board because he gave away all his money to starving peasants. (Two years ago I stood at his grave in Auvers Sur Oise.) In the past 27 years, 7 of his paintings alone have sold for $719 million dollars; more than any other artist in history. I think there is something deeply right about imagining this scenario. Hope you enjoy. Hope it helps you believe.
