Honestly, I do not understand why it is not a A-G requirement or what not in schools for Students of Color, White Students, and the privileged to learn about the way America was founded. Yes, I was taught that we were built thanks to the African people. But NEVER did we have a conversation about how that has translated into todays ideas. Im sick of people, especially privileged White people, undermining those experiences and thinking that they are no longer relevant in todays society. They do not recognize White Privilege, DENY racism, but BELIEVE in reverse racism. We should have been learning and thinking CRITICALLY about all these issues and TALKING about them since we were young. Now thanks to NOT doing this, we still have people ignorant to the reality. Thinking that merit is only built on talent and effort! NO!!!!!!!!! As Obama as president, he should be bringing these issues up. Just because a Black man is president does not mean racism no longer exists. Why must People of Color and especially my Black brothers and sister, and myself included, continue to be called stupid ignorant and brainwashed simply because a white man is not educated or does not want to accept the society that we, as a whole, live in. Excuse the language, but I am tired of this f-ed up society that we live in, undermining and disregarding issues that hurt a great majority of our population on a DAILY basis. We need an education reformation to begin healing this ignorance in our society.
