Honestly these people disgust me. The amount of attention this has gotten internationally is unreal thanks to the film The Cove. Sadly this hasnt got enough pressure to get governments involved. For those who dont know what is going on here let me dumb it down for you. This cove has been somewhere were dolphins have gone for many years. Fishermen aka poachers exploit this by netting in the dolphins parenting them from leaving the cove. Once in there they search for dolphins that may be valuable to sell, in this specific pod there is a rare albino dolphin. The poachers then will take the albino dolphin and possibly other healthy specimens and sell them to captivity. I know people are thinking and or so or what are you getting at? What Im getting at is the fact the rest of the dolphins will be slaughtered for their meat. Aside from the gruesome deaths these creatures face the meat gathered from them contains highly toxic levels of mercury. Now you sill may be thinkingwho cares at this point your a sick individual who hopefully has a change of heart at the next fact. This dolphin meat gets packaged and sold as other fish. So those unsuspecting people are being poisoned unknowingly. To make matters worse the meat ends up in schools where kids are actually developing diseases due to the mercury in the meat. To put this into perspective its like ordering chicken and finding out your eating your neighbors dog that just ate a ton of pesticides.
