Hong Kong : Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme 2014-15 at Hong Kong Polytechnic Princeton University The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) invites expressions of interest from graduates, irrespective of country of origin and ethnic background, with evidence of academic excellence, research ability and potential, and good communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities for full-time PhD study in Hong Kong within the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme. The scheme is offered by the Research Grant Council (RGC) of Hong Kong. It provides a monthly stipend of HK$20,000 (approximately US$2,600) and Conference and Research related travel allowance of HK$10,000 (approximately US$1,300) per year for awardees for a maximum period of three years. In addition, PolyU will provide each PhD Fellow with a 3-year tuition scholarship. PolyU is a government-funded university in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the Peoples Republic of China. The University has a strong team of academic staff with solid experience in supervising research postgraduate students. In 2012/13, there are 750 Assistant Professors and above. Among them, 180 are Chair Professors or Professors. In addition, many of our Chair Professors/Professors are internationally leading experts in their research areas. We have the largest number of students among the eight government-funded institutions in Hong Kong, and have a long and proud history of providing internationally competitive professionally oriented education.
