Hong Kong Legislative Council members Shanghai tour enhances understanding - Chief Executive CY Leung said his visit with Legislative Council members to Shanghai is a good opportunity for them to learn about the city, and the country’s development. Speaking from Shanghai today, Mr Leung attended a meeting between the Legislative Council delegation and CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee Secretary Han Zheng. He said co-operation between Hong Kong and Shanghai continues, and the new Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect pilot programme Premier Li Keqiang announced at the Boao Forum for Asia this week will boost both cities’ capital markets. Mr Leung and the delegation visited the Shanghai Hongqiao Central Business District and the Integrated Transportation Hub, and a Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China manufacturing site. TRANSCRIPT: Chief Executive CY Leung and Legislative Council members visited Shanghai over the weekend. On Saturday morning, the delegation visited the Shanghai Hongqiao Central Business District and the Integrated Transportation Hub. They also stopped for a photo op at the Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station and took a look inside a high-speed railway compartment. hey also visited a manufacturing site for the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, and stepped inside a simulation aircraft. Mr Leung and Legislative Council President Jasper Tsang were invited to sit in the cabin. In the afternoon, the delegation met CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee Secretary Han Zheng. Mr Leung thanked him for helping to arrange the trip. He also mentioned the pilot programme for mutual stock market access between Hong Kong and Shanghai, which was recently announced by Premier Li Keqiang at the Boao Asia forum.
