Hong Kong Update, 10/7/2014, After FINALLY getting my name on the HK doctors registry and getting my license to practice optometry in HK I took an unannouced trip with my updated resume in hand to The Hong Kong Polytec University. The campus is stunning! There are over 31,000 students enrolled. I wanted to hand carry my documents into the human relations department because i mailed my incomplete documents to them last time and they apparently never got them. So glad I did it this way because after speaking with the secretary in the optometry division she told me to wait in the conference room. Five minutes later she returns with the head of the the board that does the hiring! (This was a very pleasant unexpected surprise). He interviewed me on the spot in a different conference room with a secretary that took notes! After pleading my case how all my experience might be of benefit to the student doctors in their clinic, he said an OD faculty member would call me in a week or two for another interview and a tour of the facilities and see where I might fit into their program!!! YES, WOW! AWESOME! SO, hand carrying my documents WAS the right thing to do! The photos show some of the beauty of this inner city campus.
