Hong Kong in the 50s/60s : where East and West Meet From the photographs you can see the exciting mixture of London and Shanghai. Double-decked trams ( the only city in Asia that has double-decked trams) and Chinese businessmen ride in rickshaws. Great stoned and glass-walled office buildings /banks line the main street like the Londons Fleet and the New Yorks Wall street..But round the corner, up the side streets, the western influence has disappeared entirely and scenes as old as China itself greet the eye.
