Honor - Pt.4 My darling in Christ, Jesus told us something very important in the gospel of Matthew. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden”. (Matthew 5:14). This statement is full of so much truth that if only we would walk in it as sons and daughters of the Most High God, this world would be a place full of the love of God. We cannot hide as lights of this world. We are to shine and release the light and life of God to our communities, work places and schools. Remember what Romans 8 says: “For [even the whole] creation (all nature) waits expectantly and longs earnestly for God’s sons to be made known [waits for the revealing, the disclosing of their sonship]”.(Romans 8:19) What is the whole creation waiting for? That we will walk in honor. It’s sad that some of our beloved brethren choose not to walk in honor of the word of God, and because of this the name of God is been blasphemed. They don’t want to submit to God-ordained Authorities such as governments, kings, majors, teachers and men of God etc. Whenever a president/prime-minister makes a mistake, they will be the first to condemn them instead of walking in honor of (1 Timothy2:1-2). They use their freedom in Christ to hide their shady dealings. As an effect of this, all the children of God are judged by the worldly as dishonest. But thanks be to God who always causes us to triumph that it shall not continue as so. The Spirit of God is going to move and lead us to our pre-ordained state of honor. Remember what our main scriptures says: “Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that has called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given to us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust” (2 Peter 1:2-4) The word glory also means honor. That is where Christ has called us to, a place of honor. This is our promise. His grace and mercy is going to transport us there if we yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit. We will fulfill our role as the light of the world. “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven”. (Matthew 5:16 AMP) Praise be to God Almighty who reigns above all things.
