Honorable Sam Kutesa tells RadioFranceInternational (RFI) that hes not bothered by the online petition to block him from becoming President of the UN General Assembly next month because the petition is incorrect and a lie but he does not say what information on the Petition is incorrect and a lie. english.rfi.fr/africa/20140512-uganda-s-foreign-minister-sets-his-sights-un-presidency-central-african-republic?ns_campaign=reseaux_sociaux&ns_source=twitter&ns_mchannel=social&ns_linkname=editorial&ns_link=node_167098&aef_campaign_ref=partage_user&campaign_date=2014-05-12 Question By RFI: There’s an online petition against you becoming president of the GA citing alleged corruption. Will that stop you? Kutesa: I’ve heard that, but that’s nothing, I’m not bothered by that because it’s incorrect. It’s a lie so I’m not bothered by that. Fact 1: He was censured by Ugandas Parliament for corruption Fact 2: More than $150 million in public funds went missing and he was implicated when Uganda hosted the Commonwealth conference in 2007 Fact 3: U.S. ambassador to Uganda Jerry Lanier in a 2009 cable to the State Department mentioned Mr. Kutesa as one of the senior officials implicated in allegedly accepting bribes from foreign oil company Fact 4: Uganda was found liable in 2005 for destructive war of aggression against DR Congo by the International Court of Justice and ordered to pay $10 billion, and a dime has not yet been paid Fact 5: The International Criminal Court started an investigation of Ugandas leadership for war crimes committed against the Congo and Gen. Museveni, Mr. Kutesas boss asked Kofi Annan to block the investigation (See Wall Street Journal June 8, 2006) These were some of the points refered to in the Petition and Huffingtonpost article If Mr. Kutesa writes a rebuttal showing the whats incorrect or a lie as he tells RFI we will publish it prominently. (And respond to it too). Please visit and sign the Petition. Mr. Kutesa seems to be following it....(442 people have signed) change.org/petitions/stop-sam-kutesa-from-becoming-president-un-gen-assembly
