Honoring God is not restricted to young people who seem to have unlimited strength and energy. Even in old age, devout believers can produce spiritual fruit. There are many faithful older people who continue to have a fresh outlook and can teach us from a lifetime of experience of serving God. Seek out an elderly friend or relative who can tell you about his or her experiences with The Lord and challenge you to me heights of spiritual growth. Let us pray: Gracious Heavenly Father, it is always good to give you thanks, to sing praises to You, the Most High. It is good to proclaim Your unfailing love when we open our eyes and as we rise up in the morning Your faithfulness in the evening. You thrill us, Lord with all You have done for us! We sing for joy because of what You have done. What a great works You do, dear Lord! And how deep are Your thoughts. Only a simpleton would not know, and only a fool would not understand this: "Though the wicked sprout like weeds and evil doers flourish, they will be destroyed forever." But You O Lord, will be exalted forever. The godly will flourish like palm trees and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon. For they are transplanted to Your own house. They flourish in Your courts dear God. Even in old age they will still produce fruit. They will remain vital and green. They, like us, will declare, "The Lord is just!" He is our rock! There is no evil in Him!" We are so grateful for all these, Lord, as we humbly pray in the name of Thy Son, our loving Savior, Jesus, who will reign here on earth for ever and ever, Amen!-R.A.
