Hooray for the Month of August!!! As you know, I am a totally into pool. I am also a huge golf fan, which makes this particular August the best month of the year. August 1-4 – The Women’s British Open – This event should be of interest to all sports fans because Inbee Park, who has a putting stroke to die for, is shooting for the Grand Slam. After an opening round of 69, she is strongly position to make a run for the title. Watching her putt could help you with your pool stroke! August 8-11 – The PGA, the men’s final major, is Tiger Woods’ last chance this year to break his five year slump in the majors. And Phil Mickelson will be gunning for his 6th majors and his first double major winning season. August 10-13 – The Accu-Stats Make It Happen 14.1 comes to us from Sandcastle Billiards in Edison, NJ. This PPV event features superstars Danny Harriman, Thorsten Hohmann, Mika Immonen, Oliver Ortmann, and Ralf Souquet August 19-24 – The World 14.1 Championship will be played at Steinway Billiards in New York City. I do not know their plans for streaming the event, but they have in past editions, so I would think that they will again. And, on the local scene in NY, The 2nd Annual Steinway Classic stop of the Predator Tour will be played Aug. 25-27 ($7,000 added), and the 3rd Annual George “Ginky” Sansouci Memorial event ($5,000 added) will also be played at Steinway. It runs from August 31-September 2.
