Hope that someone can give me some advise. We have had our Doxie/Pom mix for 16 months. Last year starting in mid summer he developed an allergy of some sort that made him itch like crazy. After many different diet changes we settled onto a grain free diet as well as a supplement called DermGard that we purchase from the vet. The changes made never fully quelled the itching. The itching stopped around the first frost last year so we suspected it was more an environmental allergy. This season the allergy seems to be worse though and has continued into a longer duration. Thankfully our Rocky has not itched himself to the bleeding point but i feel so sorry for him. We are going to have an allergy test next week to see if it will draw any conclusions. Has anyone had success with these types of tests? Do you know of anything that i might be missing here? I hate to see him so miserable. Our full blooded Doxie is allergy free but when i hold him to my skin too long i itch and get hives...go figure!
