Hope this is an appropriate place to make this post. As most residents, friends and family know, my mother Lee Wright is waging a desperate fight against Lung Cancer. I was finally able to get to the hospital to be with her for a few days this weekend. I will not share details here, in a public forum, on her condition. But, she will be remaining in hospital for the foreseeable future. She has started radiation treatment, and this will be followed by chemo. Needless to say, she has good and bad days. She is hopeful, and finds great solace and comfort in the kindness of her family and friends. And therein lies the reason for my post. Today, many of you attended a benefit organized by Lisa Frost to aid my mom though this time. You donated items for a silent auction, you performed music, you made food, and you reached out to touch the heart of a family in need of support and assistance. My mom, Lee, is humble. She would never ask another to assist her, she would never want anyone to worry for her well-being, but you have all done this, and reassured both my brother and I, that she has a far greater support system than we ever could have imagined. Such a wonderful group of selfless businesses & individuals! I have always been very proud to be from St. Andrews, but today, I want to yell it from the rooftops. THANK YOU ALLLLLLL! Your generosity will make a difference. It has, and will continue to, lift the spirits of my mom. Every one of you needs to be recognized as an angel. Mom needs the support financially, but more importantly, to know there is an entire community of love waiting for her recovery and return. "...
