Hope this shows the little girl killed last night. Shes so Cute. Outrage builds after 6-year-old gunned down in store parking lot Updated: 5:59 PM October 18, 2014 KANSAS CITY, Mo. View Large Angel Hoopers family said she had gone to the 7-Eleven Friday evening with friends to buy bubble gum. She paused in the parking lot to open the gum before getting in a car to leave. VIDEO It was at that time that a vehicle sped by and someone inside fired multiple shots, striking the 6-year-old. Angel was rushed to a hospital but died a short time later. Kansas City police were called to the store at 10615 Blue Ridge Blvd. after the shooting was reported at 7:15 p.m. Its not fair. We want justice. I had to lose my 6-year-old daughter to senseless gun violence. She was innocent and now I dont have my baby here anymore, Angels mother, Charity Guinn, said. Family and friends said Angel loved to sing and read, and she loved Hello Kitty. Police said they have not made any arrests yet. Police Chief Daryl Forte tweeted to the shooter. Please turn yourself in. I know you have a conscience, Forte said. Kansas City Mayor Sly James released a statement, saying that he has confidence in police and the community that the person responsible will be brought to justice. The senseless drive-by shooting last night that led to the death of a 6-year-old girl is another reason why we must get serious about gun violence. Criminals are no longer just killing each other -- they are killing our children. This nonsense must end, James said. Anyone with information in the case is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS. Angels family is collecting donations through a GoFundMe page. Copyright 2014 by KMBC. All rights reserved.
