Launched in 1982, Nirvana was one of the most successful maxi racers ever built as well as a beautiful, luxurious cruising yacht. In its racing debut, Nirvana set a Newport to Bermuda record that stood for a decade. Nirvana is commemorated in the Bermuda Maritime Museum with a special display. Nirvana won the maxi worlds four years in a row and held records for the South China Sea, Fastnet, Block Island, Channel, Gotland Runt races. Nirvana raced the Sydney Hobart, SORC, Kings Cup and other races throughout the world. Nirvana is a historically significant maxi class racer. The spacious interior is appointed with beautiful teak and holly wood and burgundy leather. Equipped with central AC/Heat, pressure water, propane oven, microwave, trash compactor, multiple refrigeration/freezers, icemaker and flat screen TV with Bose surround sound. It features four suites with three full bathrooms. The large double master cabin features built-in desk and couches and a private bathroom with bathtub. The mid-ship suites feature two twin beds with in-suite bathrooms. The forward suite provides a double bed and expanded in-suite storage. Dining facilities include a spacious fold out salon dining table, a breakfast nook area which doubles for additional sleeping, and a beautiful cockpit table for outdoor dining. Nirvana comes with a full complement of sails, gear and navigational equipment. The navigation station supports radar, SSB radio, two VHF radios, three GPS units, SAT/cell phone and Okham sailing instruments and displays. The navigation station supports two computer systems. Nirvana has a diesel 200hp Perkins main engine and 15Kw Westerbeke genset. She would be the ideal choice for someone who would appreciate her majestic history and enjoy her luxurious offerings.
