Hopefully my last post about the Philippines - today. Other than the SM mall which I think is the largest mall in the Philippines (in area), Ayala Mall and other malls are so much better in appearance, design, ambience.... Chalet type of buildings in an upperty compound. Though surroundings beyond used to be bad, I am not sure now if they still are there. I never paid attention nor shopped too much. I only grab what I need and go. Take my little sister out with me, have some few laughs and just quickly look at things. We spend more time in restaurants, actually. Lol. I usually let her take me where she wants to take me - thats the deal. Then when we get tired of each other, we fight. Lol. Oh yes, I truly enjoy the moments when we pick up our guitars and she plays along with me. Truly, truly love those moments. I must go back and visit. Many times in the past very few visits, I just stay home, feeling comfortable and at peace with mom and dad puttering around. With them gone, I think I will go through the albums, my special chinaware, collectibles, photos, journals...they better be there still. Lol. I love the Ayala Shopping Mall and other smaller boutiques. This type, I think, rests more on a Spanish-European architectural design. So grand-looking with chromed banisters, some carved wooden decors and lots of indoor as well as outdoor garden. Right close to the Ayala Mall is another building that my brother Ross, has designed. Im more proud of him than he is of himself - I think. Lol. The Department of Health building in Mandaue City, was also architectured by him. Note that architects do not build the buildings per se. The engineers oversee the construction. The architect designs symmetry and suggest specifics (type of material, density, etc.). I am not an architect, but I am sure you pretty much know what I mean. I am just surprised, their website (ayalamallcebu/) is not as grand - photo-wise. A bit discouraging. More read: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayala_Center_Cebu
