Hoping everyone had a blessed Christmas. Its been great seeing all the joy and happiness that the season has brought all of you and your families. Im also aware that some of my friends & family are enduring hardships and heartaches as well. Its always been a bittersweet time of year for me because 26yrs ago on Christmas eve, a 12 year old boy had to lay his father to rest. Do I still think about him and miss him? Absolutely! Everyday. Yes, for several years it was a very, very tough time of the year for me and my family. Heres the catch, through all the tough times, through all the disappointments and heartaches, someone helped me get passed it. The loss of so many loved ones, including my Mom and brother, & countless other family members and dear friends. Yesterday, Christmas day, was His birthday. It took me many years to realize it wasnt me, and my toughness, that helped survive those days. It was Him, and I wanted to take the time, in the quiet of this morning to say thank you Lord. Thank you for all I have, a wonderful wife who for some crazy reason, fell in love with me. A woman, who drives me to be a better man than I thought I could ever be. A step-son, who has brought my inner child back to the top, and whom I love more and more everyday. Thank you for guiding me back to my home & weathering the storms of losing a job that I had held for several years. Thank you for helping me battle through addictions. Thank you for the countless friends and family, that even though I get caught up in life sometimes, when I do see them, we are able to pick up right where we left off. But most of all, thank You for dying for me and giving me a second chance. Yes, I do fall short of Your glory, every single day, but I know that all I need to do is ask for Your forgiveness and it will be done. Im here to say just one thing to everyone. Im living proof that the Lords love and forgiveness is real. Very easily He could have turned His back on me, esp. when after so many years I had done that to Him. He has giving the ability to know that one day, I know Ill get to see my family and friends that have gone on again. All I can say to that is Hallelujah!! youtu.be/43OQi0KJC8g
