Hoping yall can do this old Bethel boy a favor by checking out and sharing this demo video for my Kickstarter project. Just looking for a little help with a dream Ive had for a long time. Some quick background for anyone who might be wondering who the heck this “Perry” guy is: I grew up on Linda Lane at the Schneider house. When I started in radio in 1984 (2 years after graduating BHS) and John Schneider from Dukes of Hazzard was still pretty famous, I made up the radio name. Brother Pete (BHS class of 72) bought the 1949 Chevy truck that is the focus of my Kickstarter project in Missouri and drove it home in 1981. I have loved this truck from the moment I first laid eyes on it. 33 years later it sits in my driveway (it became mine when Pete and I made a deal about 10 years ago), very close to hitting the road for the first time since Pete parked it in 1984. I will soon realize part one of the dream when I finally drive it, but part two (the full restoration) is quite a bit more expensive, as you might imagine. I hadnt previously considered Kickstarter, but when I heard about the guy who used it to pull in more than $50,000 to make potato salad, I knew I had to give it a shot. Well be in preview mode for a while, as I seek feedback and tweak the project accordingly. I want to take the time to create the best possible chance of success before we officially launch. Just posted the video this week, most of which was shot at the Sycamore last Saturday (8/16/14). The Kickstarter preview link is in the video info, and you can check out the full story at the Johns Old Truck Facebook page and JohnsOldTruck. Any and all comments, suggestions and questions are welcome and appreciated. Thank you!
